The BLM Planet, a coil-fed planetary bending machine fitted with an in-line endforming unit and swarfless cut-off device. The Planet can produce complete components in a single operation in a fully automatic process with minimal operator supervision.

The first operation on the Planet is to de-coil and straighten the tube, which is then endformed. The component can then be bent using either conventional draw bending or compression bending , depending on the complexity of the form. Finally the Planet cuts off the finished component with its swarfless cut-off attachment.

The benefit is the ability to incorporate different working operations in a single production process i.e. straightening, end forming, deburring, bending and cut-off.

With a max. capacity of O.D. 19 mm the Planet is available with Compression or Rotary Draw Bending, Left & Right-Hand dual-stack bending with the option to combine both types of bending in the same automatic cycle, with two different radii.

The work centre performance is dependably controlled by a CNC Siemens 810Di.

The PLANET can be configured with different modules, to allow optional operation cycles rather than the complete production process from straightening to unloading:

• De-coiling unit
• Saw blade cutting unit
• Internal or external swarfless orbital cutting device
• 4 or 6 in-line ram forming station and one rotary

t is particularly suitable for the complex shapes typical of small tubing of the automotive (hydraulics, air conditioning, fuel pipes), air conditioning and heating, refrigeration.
